Sometimes there are just things that need to be said. Granted there will be complaints, bitchin’ and analysis of things political. But there will also be thanks, praises and good news too ( I hope!)

Brian,
I am not sure if you are working on a linking story between your two most recent posts but it may well be that there is a strong correlation there. It is beyond my personal skills with numbers to dig into it but here is the theory.
The mythology surrounding the huge benefits of the reduction in the small business tax appears to me to be a shell game.
It would be good to know the amount of extra taxes that have flowed to provincial coffers based on the increase in minimum wage. If I were to guess at it the number of dollars actually reduced from the business tax side I would suggest that the number of dollars paid by minimum wage employees has more than offset that reduction.
At the same time, it would be interesting to see how much the reduction in the amount paid by businesses in taxation has been eaten up by the combination of minimum wage increases, the accompanying increase in employer share of deduction contributions, and the big one in Manitoba…. The crazy increase in fees such as registration costs for vehicles, permit costs, etc etc…..
Thank-you for your continued work in bringing forward much needed commentary.
